Melbourne Fashion Festival
Finery, Fabulousness and Fall trends are three F words I love about the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival. The 23rd annual VAMFF began on March 1st 2019, with the city's usual buzz amplified by a myriad of self-diagnosed fashion addicts (including me!).
Every year the iconic Royal Exhibition building is converted into a hub of runways, bars and shopping plazas, and this year it certainly did not disappoint. Firstly we attended the David Jones Gala Runway presented by Vogue Australia which showcased both Australian and international designers in a 45 minutes spectacle. Designers such as Aje, Rixo London and Armani Exchange were paraded, mixing both Autumn and trans-seasonal looks for the ideal Australian consumer. Power suits definitely made a comeback with my personal favourite from Trelise Cooper (pink pant suit below), and bold animal prints remaining popular.

The 'black carpet' was not shy of celebrities, with fashion stars such as @yanyanchan, @nadiabartel, @nadiafairfax and @jesinta_franklin gracing us with their presence and this-season looks.

The next night started in a similar manner for the Runway 1, with street style bloggers and their photographers eager to capture #Instagrammable moments. Lee Mathews and Dion Lee were the stand out designers who ignored traditional autumnal hues and focused on their roots in in fabric movement and technical composition.
